Krishna Dronamraju
President of Foundation for Genetic Research
University of London
USA
Krishna Dronamraju(Biography)
Dr. Krishna Dronamraju received his Ph.D. in human genetics under the direction of J.B.S. Haldane. He continued research in human genetics, biometry, biotechnology, history of science and scientific biography, publishing 18 books and over 200 research papers and articles. His research on cleft lip and palate led to the discovery of a positive correlation between the frequency of fetal deaths and increasing liability to cleft formation. In the study of infectious disease, he followed the tradition initiated by his mentor J.B.S. Haldane, searching for relationships between infectious diseases and various genetic anomalies. Dr. Dronamraju organized and chaired several international conferences in population genetics, infectious diseases, biotechnology and the history of science in several countries. He is the President of Foundation for Genetic Research in Houston, USA and a Visiting Professor of the University of Paris, and an Honorary Research Fellow of the University of London. His latest book is: “Haldane, Mayr and Beanbag Geneticsâ€Â, Oxford University Press, 2011. He has been nominated for the Nobel Prize.
